Danielle Nicole Holyk’s paintings are an abstract reflection of the City of Vancouver where they grew up. The shapes and shadows of the City inspire the use of soft white and grey colours contrasted with black. Each piece is created with a calm energy, inviting a softer view of the City.
Their aesthetic combines a love of texture and contrast, using acrylic paint, metallic foil, and pigments. Soft gestures with palette knives and silicone wedges create daydreams on canvas.
In addition to their artistic explorations, they are a Product Developer for lululemon where they utilities their artistic background to develop unique garment dyed designs. They hold a B.A. in Fashion Design and Technology from The Wilson School of Design at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. As a vegan they are passionate about animal welfare and taking care of our Earth.
